Here at Calvary Community Church, we believe that people matter. We believe in uplifting our community and ensuring a better future for our community and the best way to do that is by providing for the youth. Our Senior Pastor Cecil Henry has a caring heart for the youth and believes that uplifting and bringing the youth of our community closer to God is part of our calling as a church. As a result, we have many programs and do many events geared towards the youth inside our church home and outside our church walls, as well. Events such as Adventure Week are events that we do every year to develop a knowledge of who God is in our youth. It is a summer vacation Bible school that is held one week every summer during the evenings and is geared towards elementary school and middle school kids. This is something that we as a church have done for many years now due to our compassion for the youth of the community. Other events include our Back To School event, where in 2017 we partnered with NYSUM (New York School of Urban Ministry) to give away over 200 backpacks to the community; Graduation Sunday where we highlight those in our church that are graduating or have graduated in the year. In addition to those, we have our weekly programs like our Junior Church that is held during our Sunday Services for the children to learn about God and who Jesus Christ is in a fun, yet educational way and B.L.A.Z.E Youth Ministry which is held every Friday night for the older youth to fellowship with each other under the guidance of our youth leader. God called us to serve just as Jesus Christ did. Therefore, we have and will continue to bridge the gap through service.
